Bowie Style Knives
Description
The classic Bowie knife was named after James (Jim) Bowie. Legend has it that Jim received the knife from creator James Black. The knife became legend, worn on Jim’s side, at the Sandbar Fight. There are many stories of Jim and the infamous bowie knife, but very little is truly known about the original bowie knife.
Today, bowie knives are typically characterized by blades 6″-12″ with a straight spine, clip point and a large guard. The clip point is typically a swedge – a false edge – a beveled unsharpened edge.
