It’s rare that sequels or remakes ever outdo or outshine the original. Think about it.
How many times can you think of that a sequel to a movie or a remake of a movie is better then the original. It’s a pretty rare feat, but I believe that’s exactly what I’ve succeeded in doing! I believe this “sequel” is even better than the original!
A couple months ago I was contacted and asked to make a replica of the knife that was featured on the cover of Blade Magazine. The customer loved the look of the knife on the cover of Blade and wanted one just exactly like it (or as close as possible!) Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to reproduce a knife exactly like that one. Fortunately, the one I did make was even better while still staying true to the original.
Harpoon Point Skinner the sequel, I believe, is even better than the original Harpoon Point Skinner which was featured on the cover of Blade Magazine!
For the sequel I went with a little thicker guard and left it a little larger as well. Also, the overall length of this one ended up being slightly longer than the original. For the stack, it stayed true to the original. The leather, brass, copper and vulcanized fiber stack are in the same configuration and combination as the original.
I have been fortunate to get to know the new owner some over the last couple of months. I shipped it to him today and I’m very excited to see what he thinks and hopefully find out that it lives up to all his expectations!
Please contact me if you’re interested in your own truly unique version of this knife! I’m happy to customize it to your liking with different handle materials and/or color combinations, just send me note and we’ll discuss what you want!
